GETTING INTO DRESSAGE TO MUSIC!

8 places maximum for riders with their own horses but unlimited for non-rider participants

The event is sponsored by DCUK so is available at only £30 (ridden participant) or £10 if you come along on-foot

The first part will take the form of a short presentation, focussing on the basics of choosing music, creating floorplans, answering your questions and queries on what and how to include movements in your test.  Have a look at other course contents (scroll down) and you'll have a fuller idea of the things we'll cover.

The afternoon is ideal for grass roots riders who are either new to 'doing dressage to music' or who have had a go before and want more ideas (and to pick our brains!).  We'll use real riders on 'normal' horses - our riding participants - to help show you what you can do with basic music to help you create your mini-masterpiece!

The level will be prelim, novice and elementary - we're going to cover the very very basics too to help you even if you'd like to try music for a walk trot test!

Fancy a fun kick start to your flatwork in 2008?
Perfect for those who want to have fun with flatwork and try something a little different for schooling and at times to suit working riders.

PART 1 – 7 – 9pm Thurs 31st January – minus horses, the theory ‘how to’ session
PART 2 – 7 – 9 pm Thurs 28th February – the dressage to music competition

Part 1

Without your horse, meet at the LMEC restaurant at 7pm.
During the session we will:
Cover all the ‘how to’s – the real basics to get you started
Provide you with handouts on what you need to include in your test
Provide handouts covering all the elements we discuss on the evening
Explain about floor plans, and provide you with blank floor plans to create your test
Give hints on how to maximise you and your horses best points
Help you maximise the chance of improved percentages
Explain how to put music to the floorplan
Help you devise your very own floor plan

Part 1 will finish by 9pm but Julie will stay afterwards to chat should you have more questions or queries
We’ll then meet again 3 weeks, giving everyone a chance to put together a test with music and practice it.

Part 2

The dressage to music competition, with the first test time being 7pm and the last by 9pm. Prize giving will happen within 5 mins of the last competitor. Friendly, relaxed, informal atmosphere, a great judge lined up, restaurant open and rosettes and prize money too for the competitors! Friends and family welcome too.
